JoyConf was not just a product conference, but a strategic look at the future of content, AI search, and automation. Storyblok presented several new features and partnerships aimed at transforming the CMS from a mere repository for content into a living, interconnected system that can thrive in the age of AI.
One thing was clear: it is no longer just about “more content,” but about high-quality, semantically structured content, interlinked with workflows and analysis, so that it remains visible and coherent in AI responses.

Five key innovations and their significance for businesses
Below is our analysis of the most important changes:
Strata – the vector data layer for content
Strata builds a vector layer over your existing content structure. This enables the system to recognize relationships, semantic connections, and redundancies. The goal is to make content more intelligently usable—for example, for AI search, semantic recommendations, or contextual personalization. With Strata, content debt can be specifically identified and eliminated, new content can be better embedded, and the influence of content on AI responses can be better predicted.
FlowMotion – Automation at the touch of a button
FlowMotion is a visual workflow engine (based on n8n) that allows content changes to automatically trigger actions—such as notifications, publications, or data flows to third-party tools. Companies can use it to reduce routine processes, minimize human error, and ensure more consistent content delivery across systems.
Enterprise Roadmap: Planning, Assets & Environments
These features have been announced or are in development, and they address key challenges in enterprise organizations:
- Enterprise Content Planner (Q4 2025): This creates a central planning level for content releases, campaigns, and coordination.
- Global Asset Library (Q1 2026): Centrally manage assets (images, videos, documents) and reuse them in multiple projects/spaces—no need for multiple uploads.
- Environment Spaces (Q1 2026): Isolated environments (dev, staging, production, etc.) to safely test changes without compromising live systems. These innovations address governance, reuse, and scalability, especially in complex multi-team setups..
Design + Mobile-Vorschau: Figma Connect & React Native Live-Vorschau
A key topic was the seamless connection between design, content, and delivery:
- Figma Connect allows components to be transferred directly from Figma to the CMS, reducing handoff friction between design and development.
- React Native Live Preview was developed in collaboration with Virgin Media O2. It allows you to check changes to content directly live in a mobile app – a huge benefit for mobile teams. It works as an open-source component that can be deeply integrated.
This narrows the gap between content and UX, and teams save on feedback loops.
Partnership with OtterlyAI – Content observability in the age of AI
OtterlyAI is a content observability platform: it measures how your content performs in various AI search systems (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot) and identifies opportunities for optimization. By integrating with Storyblok, teams can not only create content, but also control how it is perceived in the AI world—bridging the gap between generation and performance. For us, this is a key innovation: content is not only created—it becomes controllable in AI channels.
